Reflection

Losing a job shakes more than a budget. It can unsettle your sense of worth, your plans and your days. Jesus speaks straight into the questions it raises: "What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink?" In he does not call those needs small. He says "your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things," and invites you to seek his kingdom first and trust him with the rest.

promises that God "shall supply all your need." His provision often comes one day at a time, through people, open doors and help you did not expect. says his mercies are "new every morning," and that includes the mornings without a job to go to.

holds planning and trust together: you may plan your way, and the Lord directs your steps. Update the résumé, make the calls, ask for help, and apply for the support you are entitled to. None of that is a lack of faith. Losing this job does not mean God has lost track of you.

Prayer

Father, I have lost my job, and I am afraid of what comes next. You know what I need for this week, and you have not forgotten me. Provide for my family and me. Steady my sense of worth in you, not in a title. Open the right doors, give me courage to ask for help, and direct my steps as I plan. Amen.

Pause and consider

Write down this week's real needs, read , then ask one person for a lead or practical help.
